In the beginning was shamanism.
At the beginning of medicine was shamanism. The word is of Siberian origin, but it covers a reality present in the medical history of all continents.
From the Australian aborigine to the Amerindian medicine man, via the Hawaiian kahuna, the Japanese Miko or the bombo Tamang from Nepal, each socio-culture has its shaman, a mysterious and androgynous character, at the crossroads of the priest and the doctor.
He considers that the human entity is made of a body and a spirit which interact permanently, between a birth and a death and that they themselves are only the two sides of the same life.
Like other ethnic practices, Chinese therapy is of shamanic origin.
His reference work, the Huang Di Nei Jing (300 BC), reveals that “in ancient China healers were shamans (witch doctors).”
The remoteness of nature has led to a maladjustment of man to his environment.
Human societies that lived in a simple way, in contact with nature, although not having modern comfort, did not have all its obligations either, leaving individuals free to adapt, protect themselves, function in symbiosis. with the environment.
The remoteness of this nature has led to a progressive maladjustment of man to his environment, and favored the development of new problems and afflictions, made virulent by his own weakening.
The natural, holistic and spiritual vision
of human being
Shamanism seems to have experienced a resurgence of interest in the West in recent years.
No doubt he owes it to his natural, holistic and spiritual vision of human beings, which appears surprisingly modern, in phase with a twenty-first century determined to break with a materialism incapable of overcoming torments he himself created.
Understand your place in the universe

This program explores the shamanic roots of the Chinese tradition and how they can be used.
You will discover how to move essence and transform energy to achieve a state of physical and mental well-being.
You will also be fascinated by the unique role of shamans in
the universe, with their expanded vision of reality that allows them to guide souls towards their development.
Prepare to immerse yourself in the mystical and supernatural world of the shamanic tradition.
The program "Shamanism, the journey of the soul", takes us to discover these ancestral practices which have been used since the dawn of time. To fully understand shamanism, it is important to accept the world of the dead and the spirits.
Shamans are beings endowed with extraordinary powers, such as the gift of healing and the ability to practice lucid dreaming.
They are also capable of shamanic trance, that is to say, to travel by the spirit in parallel dimensions to find secret answers.
Shamans can also seek help from spirits.
According to shamanic beliefs, human beings are able to get in tune with other vibratory bodies and cross the different dimensions of the universe.
Moreover, the human being is made up of several "bodies" of different densities, each one having its own reality.
The soul´s journey
The human being is made up of multiple 'bodies'.
From the point of view of shamanic practices, the human being is made up of several “bodies” of different densities, each having its own reality.
In the Chinese tradition, we distinguish
- the physical body (Shen Di),
- the etheric body (or astral, Po),
- the mental body (or consciousness,
Shen),
- and the body of the soul (Hun). Although independent of each other, these different bodies, or aggregates, are not separate.
They form the entities of the composite being that we are, just as a candle is at the same time wax, wick, flame, heat and light.
The soul is the root of consciousness and if the soul escapes, the "roots of reason and feelings" are severed. The spirit can then wander, meet other levels of reality, enter the world of the spirits, imbibe their advice and their powers.
Madness as a healing process
What we call schizophrenia or hysteria can just as accurately be called trance.
Shamanism also offers a unique perspective on mental disorders, viewing insanity as a healing process. According to the author, a pathological phenomenon is in reality an attempt at recovery, a process of reconstruction.
"Whatever tradition he belongs to, the main characteristic of the shaman is his expanded vision of reality, his apparent familiarity with a realm beyond ordinary waking consciousness.
To understand shamanism, one must accept the world of the dead and It is necessary to admit the notion of extrasensory perception, of modified state of consciousness, of the existence of a "beyond" the ordinary senses that materialist science refutes. fact of wisdom and madness, and admitting that what we call schizophrenia or hysteria in our country, can just as accurately be called trance or possession in other socio-cultural contexts, and that a shaman is none other than a “cured lunatic”.
Determine your abilities to be a Shaman
Shamans are marked by a singularity.
"People destined to become shamans are often marked by a singularity.
These may be people suffering from a form of blindness, the deprivation of the ordinary senses naturally developing dreams and visions from within.
Sometimes they are beings with ambivalent sexuality, which makes them particular intermediaries between Heaven and Earth, the forces of Yin and Yang.
They may also be people who have "survived" an illness or a serious accident, struck by lightning or who, for one reason or another, came close to death and experienced what is called today. an N.D.E. (Near Death Experience)."

Shamanic trance
Shamanic trance is not a game, but a trying experience, exclusively spiritual or therapeutic.
In traditional cultures, ritual and sacred substance are not used anywhere, anytime, in any context.
The product is consumed according to a strict cultural code and it is used for a specific purpose.
Talking to stones and animal
Human beings are theoretically capable of attuning themselves to other vibrational bodies
At the top of the spectrum of incarnated species, the human being is theoretically able to tune in to other vibrational bodies.
This is what the shaman does when he vibrates one of his bodies to enter into communication with the "spirit" of other forms of life (the etymology of the word "animal" also comes from the Latin anima) .
This communication is not done in a language similar to that of the mental body, because each body has its language, which words cannot describe.
The etheric body, for example, a language made of sensations, instinctive reactions, unspeakable thrills.
That of the soul is made more of sensory images (visual, possibly olfactory or auditory).
The healing gift
The healing that came from heaven."
The human being is not an autonomous entity, but the plaything of forces which exceed it.
Starting from this vision, the shaman has no powers of healing by himself: these can only come from the natural forces which flow into him, or manifest themselves through him.
Using dreams as a driver of hidden powers
The language of the soul can be expressed through dreams
Primitive tribes, like those of the Ashuar Indians, only go hunting if they have had the appropriate dream: their culture encourages men to tell each other their dreams every morning, before deciding on their activity for the day.
Traditional Chinese practice regards dreaming as the expression of the activity of the soul (Hun), which is itself the source of our consciousness (Shen).
Consciousness follows the movements of the blood, and sinks into the dream world.
The brain (associated in Chinese medicine with the marrow and kidneys) undergoes these variations of impulses, which result in the activation or inhibition of its various cortices.
Through the brain, the language of the soul can thus be expressed by the dream, and that of the conscience by the verb.
Shamanism is a practice that has existed for millennia
. According to tradition, spiritual forces can be obtained to restore inner balance, predict the future and answers to existential questions.
Shamanism also aims to maintain harmony between man and his natural environment.
Siberian shamanism
Siberian shamans are considered priests and mediators between the spirit world and the human world.
They use rituals, dances, songs and musical instruments to enter a trance and communicate with spirits.
Siberian shamanism has a social dimension, it is responsible for the transmission of traditions.
They use medicinal plants, rituals, dances and prayers to cure physical and spiritual illnesses.
They are also linked to the belief in reincarnation and the existence of parallel spiritual dimensions.
They used medicinal plants and meditation techniques to enter a trance and communicate with spirits.
SANITATION
Since ancient times, cleansing has been a shamanic practice aimed at purifying the air and creating a higher atmosphere through the burning of sacred herbs.
This practice can be particularly beneficial when one is nervous or preparing for a crucial event.
By using the right plants, one can invoke the spirits of nature to purify the environment and connect to a higher plane of consciousness.
For sanitization to be effective, it is essential that the smoke spreads throughout the space, so that one can enjoy its soothing benefits and feel deeply at peace.
THE ALCHEMY OF EMOTIONS
Emotions belong to the Yang part of the organ system.
They correspond to a stimulation of energy (Qi), in so far as they induce functional modifications and a break in behavior.
There manifestation of an emotion is comparable to the functional exacerbation (Yang) of the organ to which it corresponds energetically.
It is therefore up to the Yin of said organ to balance and control its Yang part in order to avoid an excessive emotional manifestation, with its possible pathological consequences.
An emotion that manifests therefore corresponds to an "exceeding" of Yang in relation to Yin. In accordance with the Yin-Yang theory, this overshoot can be real or apparent
When an emotion is produced by an excess of Yang (Yang Shi), the excitement is produced from external stimuli which make the Yang of the organ react, and activate its dynamic part.
This type of emotion corresponds to a relatively intense excitation over a limited period of time.
This is generally the case with sudden events, such as the announcement of good news causing a reaction of joy, an argument triggering strong anger, a bereavement causing significant grief, etc.
In these situations, the Yang finds itself in a position of need, which is not the case with the other organs. In these situations, the Yang is temporarily agitated, and it is up to the Yin to gradually regain control (which happens more or less quickly depending on the type of emotion manifested, itself Yin or Yang.

They LOVE IT !
I recently purchased the "Shamanism, the Journey of the Soul" pack and was deeply touched by the connections the author establishes between shamanism and Chinese therapies. The book explains how these two practices can be combined to reinforce physical and spiritual calmness in a complementary way. The author explains how energy and balance principles can be used to support shamanic practices.
